Interior Design Assistant

Presbyterian Homes & Services is seeking an Interior Design Assistant to join the PHS Renovations team.

The Interior Design Assistant performs professional interior design and project coordination work supporting renovation, refresh, and capital improvement initiatives across Presbyterian Homes & Services communities. Working under established design standards and the guidance of the Director of Renovations, Interior Designer, and Senior Interior Designer, this position independently manages assigned design requests and smaller-scale renovation projects while supporting larger and more complex renovation initiatives.

Responsibilities

The Interior Design Assistant researches, develops, documents, and coordinates interior design solutions including finish selections, furniture specifications, vendor coordination, project documentation, field verification, and design library management. Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinate assigned interior refresh projects, furniture replacement initiatives, and renovation requests from project initiation through completion under established departmental design standards.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned renovation and interior design requests, coordinating communication with site leaders, vendors, project stakeholders, and internal departments.
• Prepare and maintain design documentation including finish plans, furniture plans, specifications, schedules, presentation materials, and project records.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend finishes, furnishings, materials, and products that support project goals, operational requirements, and organizational design standards.
• Develop and maintain FF&E specifications, documentation, and tracking within established systems such as Fohlio.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor pricing, quotations, product information, lead times, and material samples to support project budgeting, procurement activities, and purchasing recommendations.
• Conduct site visits, field measurements, punch list reviews, and project verification activities to ensure design intent and project requirements are achieved.
• Develop and maintain Revit models, drawing sets, space plans, and technical documentation for assigned projects.
• Assist in construction administration activities including submittal reviews, finish verification, field observations, and project closeout documentation.
• Maintain the interior design resource library and stay current with interior design trends, building products, and healthcare and senior living design practices.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field required
• Degree from a CIDA-accredited interior design program preferred
• 0-3 years of experience in interior design or related field
• Basic understanding of the interior design process, including space planning, materials, and FF&E
• Working knowledge of design documentation and drawing standards
• Proficiency in design software (Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam; Fohlio and Procore preferred
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with strong attention to detail
• Must be able to distinguish between colors
• Interest in pursuing NCIDQ or CID certification preferred
• Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers

Pay Range

The estimated starting pay range for this role is $24.35 - $30.44 per hour. This good faith estimate is based upon PHS's typical starting pay range for this role. Actual pay range depends upon many factors including each individual employee's qualifications and market conditions and is subject to change.
